A partir de um convite do prefeito de Viamão, André Pacheco, o secretário de Educação do Estado, Ronald Krummenauer, esteve visitando a EMEF Zeferino Lopes de Castro na sexta-feira, dia 23 de junho, a fim de conhecer o trabalho desenvolvido pelos alunos, que vai além do currículo escolar. Com a parceria da Fundação Telefônica Vivo, todos os alunos e professores receberam equipamentos tecnológicos para pesquisa (tablets ou cromebooks), a escola recebeu conexão à rede de internet por fibra ótica, e outros equipamentos que auxiliam os alunos no desenvolvimento da pesquisa e na apresentação das experiências. Rosa Maria, diretora da Zeferino Lopes de Castro, explica que os estudantes estão engajados nas pesquisas para a próxima mostra, que abordará temas do programa “Galera Curtição”, como violência, preconceito, infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, uso de drogas, gênero e diversidade sexual e gravidez na adolescência. “Alguns professores e alunos participaram da formação e agora são multiplicadores das informações. Já foram apresentados e explicados os temas aos alunos e agora os grupos estão se reunindo por afinidade de temas para fazerem a pergunta que norteará o desenvolvimento do trabalho”. Depois, o secretário Estadual de Educação visitou as salas e interagiu com os estudantes e professores. Os alunos que fizeram o projeto Tanque de Guerra, Luis Miguel, 12 anos (6º ano), Gabriel Barcellos, 11 anos (6º ano), e Renam Gomes, 15 anos (9º ano), explicaram como construíram o simulador de pilotagem de um tanque e convidaram-no para pilotar. O professor Max Ribeiro apresentou os protótipos que estão sendo construídos para competições robóticas, bem como os experimentos construídos em outras mostras a partir de engrenagens ou placas de arduinos. Ao final da visita, Krummenauer parabenizou o prefeito pela iniciativa e ficou interessado em levar a ideia para a rede estadual para ser difundida em outros municípios. Pacheco destaca que o objetivo principal é preparar os estudantes para resolverem os problemas do seu entorno. “Numa educação tradicional, apresentamos as fórmulas para que os alunos tenham base teórica. Aqui, inspiramos os alunos a encontrarem soluções para os problemas que estão próximos a eles. Eles têm uma horta e construíram uma cisterna para armazenar a água da chuva. Agora vão programar um sistema para que a horta seja irrigada num horário do dia”, finaliza o prefeito.
