De 2 a 6 de outubro, durante a Semana Interamericana da Água, a Corsan está formando Jovens Embaixadores do Saneamento Básico. São, no total, 3,3 mil estudantes de escolas públicas de nove municípios. Só de Viamão, participaram 590 alunos de 13 escolas municipais. No dia 5 de outubro, a Corsan promoveu um encontro com os prefeitos e representantes dos nove municípios da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre que estarão recebendo obras em suas cidades para a captação e tratamento do esgotamento sanitário. O diretor da Fazenda Pedagógica Quinta da Estância, Rafael Goelzer, explicou que foram selecionados estudantes de escolas situadas em comunidades carentes para que elas pudessem vivenciar a importância da água, do tratamento do esgoto e o papel deles neste processo. “Como iriam vivenciar esta temática prática, foram selecionados estudantes do 6º ano, que estão trabalhando em aula a temática água, solo. Eles serão multiplicadores, do que aprenderam, em suas comunidades”, explica Goelzer. O diretor-presidente da Corsan, Flávio Presser, falou sobre os investimentos da Corsan e a Parceria Público Privada. “São nove municípios da Região Metropolitana – Canoas, Alvorada, Viamão, Cachoeirinha, Gravataí, Esteio, Sapucaia do Sul, Guaíba e Eldorado do Sul – que estarão ganhando um salto no saneamento básico em 11 anos. Passando de zero a mais de 80,% de tratamento de esgoto. Isso vai melhorar a qualidade de vida da população da região Metropolitana. Um investimento de mais de R$ 2,13 bilhões através de financiamento com o BID, mas que gerará mais de R$ 23 bilhões de economia na saúde a aumento do PIB. Isso é qualidade de vida”, destaca Presser. O prefeito de Viamão, André Pacheco, entregou um documento ao diretor-presidente da Corsan, agradecendo em nome dos demais prefeitos, pela iniciativa do projeto Jovens Embaixadores do Saneamento Básico. “Estamos muito felizes por termos essa perspectiva em nossas cidades. Em 2013, questionamos o contrato com a Corsan e tivemos que acionar a Companhia juridicamente, mas, em 2015, quando entrou esta gestão, as questões foram se resolvendo e começamos a trabalhar em parceria. Construímos nosso Plano Municipal de Saneamento Básico e chancelamos um acordo para termos a captação de água do Guaíba e tratamento da rede de esgotamento. Mais uma vez, parabenizo à Corsan pelo trabalho de conscientização ambiental na base, que está sendo realizado através da Quinta da Estância. Todas as ações para o futuro passam pela educação”, finalizou Pacheco.
