Na última semana, o presidente da Empresa Gaúcha de Rodovias (EGR), Nelson Lídio, juntamente com uma equipe técnica, esteve visitando o local onde será construído o viaduto no entroncamento da ERS 118 com a ERS 040. As obras de adequação das rodovias para início do viaduto já iniciaram. A Rua Antonieta Bueno Prates receberá pavimentação e o trânsito será desviado para a via. No próximo final de semana, as palmeiras existentes nas rodovias serão transplantadas para a Avenida Costa Gama, na Augusta. O prefeito de Viamão, André Pacheco, falou que está com muita expectativa pelo início da construção do viaduto, obra tão esperada por toda população da cidade e da região metropolitana. “Todos que utilizam a rodovia, principalmente no verão, sabem o desgaste que é o fluxo do trânsito. Desde 2013, o governo municipal vem buscando alternativas junto ao Governo do Estado para amenizar os transtornos. Após a criação da EGR muitas melhorias foram implantadas na via, como sinalização, duplicação de trechos da ERS 040 e a sinaleira no entroncamento das rodovias. Agora, estamos na expectativa para o início das obras de construção do viaduto, que trará mais segurança ao trânsito de veículos e pedestres, desafogando os congestionamentos na região”, expressa.

– A Fepam (Fundação Estadual de Proteção Ambiental) liberou em abril a licença que faltava para o início das obras do viaduto da ERS 118 com a ERS 040. O documento atesta a viabilidade do empreendimento da Empresa Gaúcha de Rodovias (EGR).
– A obra, com 900 metros de extensão, prevê um investimento de 14 milhões de reais e promete garantir alívio para os motoristas da região metropolitana.
– Para que a obra se concretizasse foi preciso estender a concessão da EGR até a entrada do Centro. A estimativa é de que o viaduto seja concluído até o próximo verão.
