Na sessão do dia 5 de julho, na Câmara Municipal de Viamão – CMV, o Comando Metropolitano da Brigada Militar – BM, apresentou os dados estatísticos sobre a segurança pública da cidade. A ideia é esclarecer as informações sobre os índices de criminalidade, com base nos levantamentos dos órgãos de segurança do Rio Grande do Sul. De acordo com o comandante de Policiamento Metropolitano, coronel Eduardo Amorim, é preciso ter conhecimento sobre os variados tipos de delitos existentes e que são combatidos pela BM, sendo necessário considerar estatísticas de todas as práticas criminosas. “Cada região tem sua característica. Há necessidade de esclarecer e apresentar as informações reais para não divulgar inverdades. Além disso, é preciso respeitar o trabalho do brigadiano e tratar os policiais civis e militares como cidadãos de fato, pois são eles que estão na defesa da população. A BM e a Polícia Civil estão unidas e trocam informações para o combate ao crime”, relatou o coronel. “Não podemos dizer que Viamão é o município mais violento com base em uma análise de um tipo de delito apenas, é preciso ampliar o estudo sobre a segurança pública da cidade”, completou Amorim.
O delegado da 1ª Delegacia de Polícia Metropolitana, Carlos Henrique Wendt, falou que Viamão está evoluindo em relação à segurança pública. “Muitas vezes, somente o lado negativo é noticiado. Ainda temos muito a melhorar. É preciso questionar quantos projetos sociais são desenvolvidos pelas prefeituras e pelo Estado. Isso influencia diretamente na violência”, enfatizou o delegado Wendt. O comandante do 18º BPM de Viamão, coronel Pacheco, afirmou que, em 2016, houve 160 homicídios na cidade e, em 2017, foram 124 casos. Portanto, é apresentada uma redução de 22,5% neste tipo de crime. Em 2018, até o presente momento, são 64 homicídios. “Essas informações não vêm à tona. Há muito ainda o que avançar, mas a parceria entre a BM e a Polícia Civil está possibilitando a redução de muitos tipos de delito e isso deve ser considerado”, comparou Pacheco.
A Promotora de Justiça da 2ª Vara Criminal, Márcia Villanova, disse que a violência não é combatida somente com ações de repressão. “Observamos que há muitas ocorrências de tráfico de drogas, receptação e crimes sexuais, aqui em Viamão. É importante que sejam elaboradas políticas públicas para a sociedade como um todo, desde a infância, com o oferecimento de infraestrutura, habitação, locais de lazer e ações para a diminuição de casos de violência doméstica, como exemplo”, relatou a promotora. Várias entidades de Viamão, como OAB, Sindicato Rural, Sindilojas, CDL-Viamão, ACIVI, Maçonaria de Viamão, Lions Club, Consepro e Rotary também estiveram presentes na sessão.
