A proposta visa atender os anseios e as reivindicações do Povo de Terreiro, através da Comunidade Africanista e Umbandista da cidade, formando um espaço para debates sobre questões relacionadas ao Povo de Terreiro, a fim de propor estudos e soluções que afetam os viamonenses. A Frente Parlamentar Municipal do Povo de Terreiro vai promover e organizar atividades, debates, simpósios, seminários e outros eventos relativos à temática. Na quinta-feira (13), os vereadores, juntamente com o presidente da Associação Africanista e Umbandista de Viamão, pai Washington de Oxalá, e o representante da Comunidade Africanista, Rodrigo de Xapanã, protocolaram o Projeto. A Frente Parlamentar propõe estreitar a inter-relação entre a comunidade e o Legislativo na luta pelo reconhecimento dos direitos do povo negro e a busca por um mundo sem opressões, pois lutará para que os direitos constitucionais conquistados não sofram nenhum retrocesso.
