O prefeito de Viamão André Pacheco, acompanhado do procurador-Geral do Município, Jair Mesquita, e do diretor Técnico Operacional de Transportes da Empresa Pública de Trânsito de Viamão (EPTV), Marco Azevedo, estiveram reunidos com o presidente da EGR, Nelson Lídio Nunes, para tratar sobre a construção do viaduto da ERS 040 com a ERS 118. O trecho dos quilômetros 10 e 11,5 da ERS 040, que pertencia ao Daer, agora passará à Empresa Gaúcha de Rodovias (EGR). O presidente da EGR reafirmou o compromisso com a construção do viaduto, mas de forma mais simples, como uma elevada, com pista duplicada, da ERS 040. “Dessa forma, podemos dar início às obras já no ano que vem. A estimativa é que ela seja entregue até o final de 2018”, expressa Nunes. O projeto já foi concluído e a ERS 118 passará por baixo da elevada. Há previsão de uma sinaleira para os veículos que forem fazer conversão da ERS 040 para a ERS 118. O prefeito também falou que enviará um ofício à EGR, solicitando uma sinaleira na ERS 040 junto à estrada da Brahma e outra em frente à Escola Canquerini
