Recentemente, o deputado federal Jones Martins (PMDB-RS) participou, em Gravataí, da entrega de 17 viaturas para a Brigada Militar. O ato, que contou com a presença do governador José Ivo Sartori e do prefeito Marco Alba, garantiu novas viaturas para Gravataí, Alvorada, Cachoeirinha, Sapucaia do Sul, Viamão, Santo Antonio da Patrulha, São Leopoldo e Taquara, entre outras cidades da Região Metropolitana. “A segurança é hoje a prioridade para a vida das pessoas. O investimento na área representa, antes de tudo, que os poderes Legislativo e Executivo tratam a questão como prioridade. Em Brasília, trabalhamos para garantir investimentos no combate à criminalidade”, destacou Jones Martins. Os veículos Toyota Corolla foram adquiridos por R$ 100 mil cada, com verba oriunda do Governo Federal e Governo do Estado. Segundo o secretário de Segurança Pública do Rio Grande do Sul, Cezar Schirmer, a aquisição de equipamentos de primeira qualidade é a prova da valorização do governo à Segurança Pública.
