Na sessão da Câmara do dia 8 de novembro, o vereador Edi Bagé entregou Certificado de Parabenização para a Liga Viamonense de Futebol Amador e também ao clube campeão deste ano, o Esporte Clube Lomba do Sabão. “Reconhecemos os esforços de tornar nossa comunidade cada vez menos violenta e mais colaborativa, através da prática esportiva, que, com certeza, contribui para o crescimento individual e coletivo por meio das parcerias, com o objetivo de tornar a comunidade mais unida”, falou o vereador Edi Bagé. A Liga Viamonense de Futebol Amador foi fundada em março de 2014 e contabiliza a participação de mais de 1,5 mil atletas em 10 competições esportivas. O objetivo da Liga é integrar os bairros da cidade, estimulando à prática do esporte e à colaboração com a formação de jovens e adolescentes à conduta da ética e da disciplina. A Liga se destaca, também, por auxiliar na redução dos níveis de violência, um trabalho presidido pelo fundador Maico Guimarães e o atual presidente, Diego Petry, responsável pela organização do Campeonato Municipal 2018. Neste ano, o Esporte Clube Lomba do Sabão foi campeão invicto e tem como atual presidente José Chagas dos Santos. O diretor de futebol do clube é José Carlos Pereira de Souza.
