No dia 10 de julho, o deputado Juvir Costella esteve em Viamão na reunião da Chapa 1, que é liderada por Glademir de Moura Sarico e Jair Mesquita, no PMDB. Sobre a Convenção Municipal do dia 26 de agosto, que vai eleger os novos dirigentes do PMDB, disse que não tem nada contra os outros companheiros que pretendem montar outra chapa, mas entende que este grupo demonstrou ao longo dos anos a sua identificação com o partido e, com certeza, dará continuidade no trabalho de organização do partido, visando às eleições estaduais e, posteriormente, a Municipal. Costella falou também que o PMDB tem que ter candidatura própria na próxima eleição municipal, lançando Sarico como pré-candidato a prefeito. O deputado relatou ainda da sua parceria com deputados federais que pretendem ajudar Viamão, como o deputado federal Jones Martins que estava presente e destinou em torno de R$ 1.000.000,00 em emendas parlamentares para investimentos em pavimentações nos bairros populares de Viamão.
