Segundo o INCA (Instituto Nacional do Câncer), no Brasil, o Câncer de Próstata é o segundo mais comum entre os homens e é considerado um câncer da terceira idade, já que cerca de três quartos dos casos no mundo ocorrem a partir dos 65 anos. Como presidente da Comissão de Defesa dos Direitos dos Idosos, o vereador defendeu que é fundamental que as pessoas, que atingiram a terceira idade, façam o exame para diagnóstico do Câncer de Próstata. “Começar um tratamento nos estágios prévios da doença aumenta muito a eficácia do tratamento”, alertou Edi Bagé.
