A partir do dia 21 de agosto acontecerá a XIII Semana Municipal da Pessoa com Deficiência de Viamão, conforme a Lei Ordinária 3375/2005. O evento iniciará com uma caminhada no dia 21, às 13h30min, na entrada principal de Viamão até o Calçadão Tapir Rocha. Na quinta-feira (23) serão ministradas palestras no anfiteatro da FACESI (Rua Martinica, Estr. da Branquinha, 299, Viamão) a partir das 13h30min. Na sexta-feira (24) acontecerá a Sessão Solene na Câmara de Vereadores. No dia 27 de agosto ocorrerá show cultural no Calçadão Tapir Rocha e na Praça da Santa Isabel, a partir das 9 horas, finalizando no dia 28, terça-feira, com um seminário no anfiteatro FACESI sobre os 10 anos da Educação Especial no município. “Eu, como presidente da Comissão da Pessoa com Deficiência, convido a todos a participarem das atividades da semana para que juntos possamos abordar e discutir a identificação e eliminação de quaisquer barreiras que impeçam as pessoas com deficiência de realizarem atividades e exercerem funções na sociedade em iguais e justas condições”, disse o vereador Dieguinho Santos.
