Cerca de 200 caminhoneiros participaram, no último domingo (29), da Carreata de São Cristóvão, organizada pela rede Posto da Figueira, em homenagem ao Dia do Motorista, comemorado dia 25 de julho. O Dia de São Cristóvão coincide com o Dia do Motorista, justamente porque São Cristóvão é considerado o padroeiro dos caminhoneiros, taxistas, motoristas e viajantes em geral. A carreata partiu do Maxxi Atacado e seguiu pela ERS 040 até o Posto da Figueira I, próximo ao Pedágio. Chegando lá, o padre Edison Stein, pároco da Igreja Matriz, rezou uma Missa Campeira. Logo após, foi servido um almoço por adesão e, à tarde, o músico Léo Ross realizou show. O prefeito André Pacheco participou da carreata e destacou a importância dos motoristas e caminhoneiros, evidenciada na greve dos caminhoneiros, em maio. “Os caminhoneiros desempenham um papel fundamental na economia do país. São eles que transportam medicamentos, alimentos, produção, combustível e outras mercadorias. Eles fazem essa ligação entre o consumidor e o produtor. Eles saem de casa todos os dias sem saber ao certo em que momento retornarão, carregando uma importante parte do País em suas roda. Parabéns ao empresário Paulo Fracasso por sempre exaltar essa data e proporcionar esse belíssimo evento”, destacou Pacheco.
