No dia 19 de dezembro, mais uma temporada do futebol de mesa viamonense da regra brasileira se encerrou. A temporada terminou com a grande final do Municipal 2018 e também da final do Troféu Itapuã.
Itapuã – O grande campeão do Troféu Itapuã só foi conhecido após a cobrança das penalidades máximas, com empate no tempo normal. Cláudio Viegas e Calirio Nunes tiveram que mostrar uma boa pontaria para sair campeão. Foi um rodizio de vantagens até o último pênalti, onde Cláudio errou e Calirio acertou e comemorou o título de mais uma competição.
Municipal – A grande final foi decidida entre o campeão do primeiro turno, Troféu SAVI, Calirio Nunes contra o campeão do segundo turno, Troféu Volta da Figueira, José “Zezinho” Medeiros. A partida foi equilibrada. Zezinho teve a chance de sair com a vantagem, mas o ditado falou mais alto, não fez e Calirio fez. Com dois gols conquistou o seu primeiro título do Municipal.
Titulo da Temporada – O campeão da Temporada 2018 veio com uma disputa muito acirrada entre quatro técnicos, Alexandre “Xandinho” Guimarães, Fábio Di Leone, Calirio Nunes e Cláudio Viegas. Após a eliminação nos primeiros confrontos da segunda fase do Municipal e Itapuã, Xandinho deu adeus para mais um título, Calirio Nunes, estreante na AVFB, viu a conquista do título da temporada 2018 escapar após derrota nas semifinais do segundo turno do Municipal. Assim só Di Leone e Cláudio poderiam conquistar o título, o Troféu Itapuã foi o divisor, Di Leone perdeu a semifinal para Calirio e Cláudio, mesmo perdendo a final, mas somando os pontos do vice-campeonato conquistou o seu terceiro titulo do Campeonato Viamonense, 1995, 1999 e 2018. Logo após a grande final ocorreu a entrega de prêmios do Troféu Itapuã e Municipal 2018, como também algumas homenagens aos que apoiaram a entidade durante o ano de 2018. Foram agraciados com o Troféu Destaque Apoio AVFB, o Hotel Itália, em nome do seu proprietário, Lucimar de Moura, Lucianinho Alves, por ter ajudado a equipe AVFB a participar no Brasileiro de Florianópolis, o vereador Sérgio Ângelo, pela doação de uma mesa oficial, além do grande associado Wagner Rocha, pelo seu companheirismo e sempre pronto a ajudar. Também receberam agradecimentos pelo apoio, o CMD, na pessoa do seu presidente Ricardo Medeiros, a Prefeitura Municipal de Viamão, através da Secretaria de Esporte, na pessoa do secretário Miro Braga, do Boteco Coiote, Green Ball, Coopernorte, Frigorifico Borrussia e Frigorifico Languiru, além do Zim Pão e todos os associados. Para encerrar a temporada 2018 ocorreu o tradicional jantar de confraternização com todos os técnicos participantes e este ano com o amigo secreto do botão.
