O governador de São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin, foi eleito neste sábado, dia 9, presidente nacional do PSDB, durante a 14ª Convenção Nacional do partido realizada em Brasília. A chapa encabeçada pelo governador paulista recebeu 470 votos, contra 3 Não e uma abstenção. O vice-presidente do PSDB/RS e ex-prefeito de Viamão, Valdir Bonatto, e o atual prefeito André Pacheco, estiveram presentes como delegados estaduais, com direito a voto. Bonatto foi eleito um dos membros do Diretório Nacional do partido. Em discurso para lideranças tucanas e filiados de todo o país, Alckmin ressaltou que o partido chegará unido e revigorado para a disputa eleitoral de 2018. “Aguardem o que vai acontecer conosco o ano que vem. Iniciado o processo eleitoral, o Brasil vai presenciar nosso melhor desempenho, nosso bloco de forças, partidos aliados, todos unidos. Nossa indignação e coragem vão mudar o Brasil”, ressaltou Geraldo Alckmin. Alckmin afirmou que o partido deve usar seu legado no Governo Federal e em governos estaduais e municipais para modernizar o Estado brasileiro. “Nós sabemos como chegar lá, porque acreditamos em políticas públicas perenes e não em bravatas de marketing. O PSDB é um instrumento da modernização do Brasil, do Brasil que nós queremos, inserido na economia internacional, o Brasil de agenda moderna, do século 21. Vamos perseguir a inovação de forma obsessiva. Já passou da hora de tirar o peso do Estado ineficiente das costas dos trabalhadores e empreendedores”, ressaltou. Bonatto avaliou o encontro como positivo: “O partido avaliou suas questões internas e tomou as atitudes necessárias, afastando problemas e criando as alternativas necessárias para avançar. Ao contrário da prática comum dos partidos, o PSDB soube fazer o dever de casa”, resumiu.
